Shades of Blue
This piece measures 31" x 15". An interesting shape to place in your window ~ a half-circle! This beautiful piece has different shades of blue and textures...and a geometric design. Translucent Opal blue glass was used for the cross members. This glass is delightful in different lighting situations ~ in reflective light (light shines on the surface) the glass is Light blue, when the light is from behind, the glass changes to a dark blue. The Artist used a hammered textured colbalt blue cathedral, a multi-hued blue/green cathedral to complement the Opal blue. A bright yellow "Mosaic" glass was used to create "jewels" to excite the eye. The focal point is a clear textured Cord, set on the diagonal.
All the glass in this panel has been hand-cut and created using the lead came method. Framed in Zinc and reinforced with rebar and glazing, this piece is built strong and will be a legacy for decades to come. Signed and dated with a brass plaque. Hanging hardware included.
