MY STORY
My interest in stained and art Glass began many decades ago, I have always appreciated the beauty of glass. Many years ago for Christmas, my dear husband purchased a one-day course in making stained glass. I was enamoured by the process of taking a sheet of beautiful coloured glass, designing and executing my first glass panel!
Although my interest in glass was strong...I had a very young family to raise and I was employed full-time working for a very large customer service organization managing up to 7 offices and over 100 employees. Needless to say, creating stained art glass was put to the sidelines!
After many years of raising my family and reaching rewarding milestones in my career, poor health arrived on my doorstep!
After 11 surgeries (many life-saving events) in less than 7 years, I could no longer carry on with my career and had to retire. Now, you can look at this situation and do nothing to improve your life or you can look at these events and see an opportunity to make changes!
Since retiring...before and after each surgery, and as part of my recovery process, I worked tirelessly to learn and refine my artistic skills and vision. Almost all of my learning has been self-taught, researching all avenues possible to learn an old-world art form. I feel I have reached the point where I can offer my art to the world, in the hope that others will appreciate my efforts to create something beautiful to enjoy for many decades to come.

EXPERIENCE
Self-taught in lead came and copper foil method of Stained and Art Glass.
Research and self-education of:
- Sheet glass production regarding the different types of stained and specialized art glass
- The metals necessary for construction (zinc, lead came, reinforcement copper strips and rebar)
- Old-world craftsmanship methods
- New-age techniques and tools
- Original designing
- Reinforcing and structural integrity
- Glazing methods
- Colour theories
...all learnings are necessary to achieve a balance between artistic expression and superlative techniques.
